1. GEEK RUMORS
Nolan Batman Returns [ign.com] So it looks like Christopher Nolan has been picked up by DC to oversee their movies, using his friend Zack Snyder to Directo choice pieces. Allegedly. Meaning that Christian Bale could be picking up the cape ‘n cowl for a fourth time. Possibly. While I think they should follow where DKR left off (with JGL) it’s a sound move by the company in an attempt that might put them on par with Marvel’s brickhouse lineup.
iPhone5S + iPadMini2 [AppleInsider.com] At this point it should be no surprise when a major company starts shipping out new product every year. CallOfDuty, AssassinsCreed, Apple Computers, even the James Bond franchise…all brands that know their audience will cough up the cash if they deliver the goods (no matter how unchanged or un-improved those goods are). If I hear any iPhone5 users complaining, I’ll break their phones for them so they have an excuse to upgrade!
2. CARRIE FISHER SAYS “YES” [i09.com]
Princess Leia will be returning to the bigscreen in Disney’s StarWars:Episode7!!!
3. KOREAN WAR [CBC.ca]
If you’ve been following the news over the last few weeks, at all, you should know that North Korea has been hard at work trying to piss everyone off…
First they started sending off propaganda videos that depicted American cities being destroyed by N.Korean armies. Then they went ahead with nuclear weapons tests after the UN told them to stop. Now they’re threatening South Korea by vowing to restart the war that went into ceasefire back in 1953!
At this point it’s clear that SOMETHING is going to go down, it won’t be good, and it will have lasting effects. I have mixed emotions on the situation…and think that someone with a more political background and stronger viewpoint should weigh in here.
PS: If you’re into documentaries, check out the 4 part series by VICE that was shot when they smuggled themselves into North Korea!
Human Trafficking + The Bunker = This Friday
- I feel that far too often people brush off the idea of learning something, because they’re afraid they might have to do something with that knowledge afterwards. Not only is this a lame cop-out, it makes you a partner to the crime (in my eyes). We all KNOW stuff like this happens, and we KNOW that something like this (night) could teach us more…but we’d rather do the same ol’ crap that we always do with our lives.
The great thing about this presentation, which I watched about a week ago, is that they don’t force you into some binding action. You watch, listen, learn, and are shown small things you can do that help contribute to a global effort.

We’ve teamed up with Pathway Church and the organization Not For Sale to bring a presentation that we feel everyone (especially Christians) need to witness.
Disclaimer* some scenes in the movie are pretty intense, parents should be advised if they’re bringing children
ASTEROID DA14 + CHELYABINSK METEORITE…
NASA has been posting information all day about “the closest known flyby of a rock this size” which is meant to pass by Earth TODAY (Friday).
To freak you out; it’s 45meters wide, and will pass within 27,000km…that’s closer than some weather satellites.
[more here]
Let’s freak you out more…
A 10ton meteor just struck the Russian city of Chelyabinsk this morning, injuring roughly 1000 people!
A photo album of the destruction caused can be seen [here]

3. KAYAPO UNDER SIEGE [Official]
This has been floating around a lot, and I don’t know ALL the details, but I know rather than say nothing I’ll keep the conversation going and hopefully truth is found and help is given…
4. HALO ON STEAM? [IGN.com]
Apparently Valve has registered for three Halo titles to become a part of the Steam community. While last week it was reported that this meant the games were finally coming to PC, now it’s going back to just a strong rumor (would be a sweet one!)
1. KONY CAMPAIGN CAUSES RIOT [AcholiTimes]
Invisible Children screened their viral video in the Ugandan town of Gulu…needless to say the locals weren’t fond of having their lives summed in that fashion. Many injured, one killed.

KONY 2012: Your Questions
I’ve been receiving a lot of messages from people asking me why I (or The Bunker) haven’t gotten more involved with Invisible Children’s “Kony” Campaign. Here’s my best attempt to answer this situation without getting to complicated…
I should mention that I have worked with IC in the past (once directly through my college, once indirectly through The B). So we were helping these people long before most of you even knew the cause existed. I also did my part by sharing the video and helping to make it known to the general public.
The problem; after KONY2012 did such a great job of making a world-problem known the people at IC then did a great job of discrediting themselves. However, most people don’t educate themselves enough to know what happened. Here’s a refresher; the co-founder and creator of the viral video was found intoxicated (of sorts) and naked, ranting and causing a scene. Shortly after, a video of another IC founding member was released where he was seen drunk - and making fun of the fact that he was going to spend the organizations money on a vacation for himself…leaving the children of africa to fend for themselves.
The videos can be seen [here]
I”m not making light of these situations, but I am saying that if you want people to take your cause seriously…doing something like that probably isn’t a good idea. I personally don’t feel comfortable giving my money to an organization that is as sloppy as that. Whether the mishaps were real, fake, negative, or just a person in trouble…the point is it’s sloppy work. I work at a place that is somewhat on the same level as IC, just on a much smaller scale. At The Bunker we are careful with even our Facebook posts, because we know that people are watching us to make sure we are as “good” as we say we are. If we can do it, IC can do it.
I support the cause, but not the organization. There ARE others out there that are doing the same thing as Invisible Children, do some research that doesn’t involve YouTube or Wikipedia.
I hope this answers your questions, and I hope no one thinks that I’m anti-Invisible Children. I’m all for spreading love, stopping hate, and STAYING INFORMED.
Obama, Fallon, and The Roots…jammin about student rights? I’m in!

Crash Course World History #11: Christianity
From last weeks episode (April 5, 2012)
“In which John Green teaches you the history of Christianity, from the beginnings of Judaism and the development of monotheism, right up to Paul and how Christianity stormed the Roman Empire in just a few hundred years.”
This is not a theological debate!
If you’re into watching YouTube videos that teach you things in a fun manner then hop on board the subscribe train to DFTBAville! Seriously, if you don’t like learning why are you even here?

We live in a sick, sick society.
Spread the word, catch Zimmerman, stay informed.
The amazing director became the first person to travel alone to the deepest part of the ocean, Challenger Deep (Mariana’s Trench) and captured the trip as only he can; with a full 3D camera (haha classic).
I really hope he turns it into some epic movie where robots battle alien fish that have always lived at the bottom of the ocean!

Invisible Children: Kony Campaign 2012
I had the pleasure of working with IC briefly a few years back. And it’s kinda sad that so many haven’t heard of this yet…
*EDIT*
24hrs later and there’s a lot of anti-IC stuff floating around. For those against it, share your info from a loving heart, not one bent on bringing someone down. What’s important to remember here is that taking action doesn’t just mean action; it means reading, learning, growing, and sharing. The choices one makes after those steps are then their’s to make.
I still want to signup for an action kit, but not through the monthly donations (that was never my intent). I think something like annual donations should only go to select causes that you are close to.
The awesome thing is I’ve been trying for the past 30mins but the site is so over-trafficked that it keeps crashing!!!
STAY INFORMED
“The Internet Blacklist Legislation - known as PROTECT IP Act in the Senate and Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House - is a threatening sequel to last year’s COICA Internet censorship bill. Like its predecessor, this legislation invites Internet security risks, threatens online speech, and hampers Internet innovation.”
[wiredforchange.com]
Simply put; companies are still trying to stop our online freedom. If this happens sites like YouTube, Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter will be shutdown!
Inform yourself, contact politicians in your area, spread the word! Every little bit helps!
[HERE] is a list of companies currently supporting this bill; sadly there are names like Apple, Microsoft, EA Games, and Adidas…names that should know better. Boycott some, contact others.
PS: If you’re Canadian and thinking “this has nothing to do with me” tell your ignorance to shut up and speak up now, before it’s too late to say anything!
