The first photos of Avengers2 “Age of Ultron” have hit the web!

Things to notice: Quicksilver looks old enough that he COULD be the grownup version of the one we saw in the newest Xmen movie. Rhodey is in that group shot, which means either IronPatriot or WarMachine could be making an appearance. And Cap’s new outfit reflects the Avengers, rather than SHIELD.

I Accidentally (?) Saw THOR: The Dark World, Before It Was Released…
:: So last night, my friend and I went to our local theater to see Enders Game. Entertaining movie, far too rushed, I’d rather read the book. ANYWAY. We’re on our way out when we notice that while we were inside, they put up the poster for Thor on one of the cinemas. We asked the ticket gal “does that mean it’s showing right now? Cause…it doesn’t release on the poster” she replied “yup, it starts in 20mins” I look at my phone; November 7th. I look at the poster; November 8th. There’s no lineup, there’s been no promo, this is weird. So we bite, buy tickets, and find that there are only a handful of people in the theater (all of which were in other movies, like us, and decided to just walk back in to snag this opportunity). Mini review: Far better than the first movie. Not as cheesy (but still had well placed romance/humor). I’m not even a fan of Marvel’s Thor, and I thought it was good. The easter eggs, and tie-in’s to the rest of the Avengers franchises were golden. And the TWO end credit scenes were awesome!
All in all a great night…but I’m half expecting to get in trouble or something…

TOP5 SUMMER MOVIES [2012]

5. PREMIUM RUSH

I just explained in my review of this why I love it so much.
Read it [here]

4. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

I started the summer loathing the idea ofanotherreboot, but found myself seeing this movie twice, a pleasant surprise!
3. PROMETHEUS

I was looking forward to this movie for well over a year, planned a whole mini-road trip with friends for opening night, and saw it 2 more times in theaters after that!
2. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

It’s the friggin end to the legendary Nolan trilogy…
1. THE AVENGERS

This takes the top spot solely for it’s ability to allow me the pleasure of escaping reality for a few moments to fall back into my childhood. I saw it multiple times, played the stupid game on Fbook, read the fanfiction, and am very excited for the upcoming TV show, and ran Marvel movie marathons in celebration before and after it’s release.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE SUMMER MOVIE OF 2012?

AVENGERS [movie] Review
*SPOILER ALERT*
This should have come out on Saturday (when I saw it) but I just moved and don’t have internet at home :/SO, after 5 years of hype…was it worth it?     YES!
Thank you Mr Whedon; thank you for appreciating the fact that regardless of how much Hollywood wants to make, WE the fanboys and geeks of the world have been waiting for this movie since we were children. If that didn’t make sense…the movie is good, great even. It’s far better than any of the Marvel movies leading up to it. Not that they were bad, but this is definitely the best portrayal of the characters themselves. For example; Thor felt a little too cheesy, and Hulk had just…so many problems. You can definitely tell that Whedon (a fan of comics and continuity) was able to force his hand on certain subjects pertaining to the geekiness of this flick. Overall the flow of the film was perfect, going from realization and introduction to formation and problem solving smoothly while keeping me entertained.
DID YOU WATCH TIL THE END OF BOTH CREDITS???Who was the purple guy smiling at at the end: His name is Thanos, and he’s the baddest of the bad in the Marvel universe. What does this mean for the Avenger movies…that they’re only going to get bigger, and possibly involve some crossovers! Also the Shwarma scene at the very very end: perfect!
This movie had the right amount of humor, action, suspense, drama, and that awkward tension between main characters that only Whedon seems to be able to create.
Do you need to see previous Marvel movies before this? Yes.
My favorite scene? The NY final battle! When I was a child I dreamed of what it would be like to see my favorite comic heroes in real life, and this delivered that beautifully. I was in awe when Cap started barking orders to Hawkeye and IronMan. My childhood was pleased.
My thoughts on the villains? I hate Loki, he’s friggin annoying. But that’s perfect when dealing with a storyline like this, so it works. However I really hope they use the pure brutality of Thanos to deliver an enemy who can put up a fight in then next movie.
My favorite hero? It ended up being Thor, and that surprised me! Iron Man was my favorite character in the solo movies, and Captain America was my favorite film out of the bunch, but Thor delivered a really strong character to the Avengers story. 2nd place goes to Black Widow…Scar Jo will always have a place in my heart ;) haha
I could go on and on, so leave your thoughts in comments/replies/messages so we can keep the conversation going!

Coffee & Multitasking v.96

4. TOP 50 AVENGERS [IGN]
In anticipation for this weekends release, the kings of nerd have released their favorite members of the worlds finest (and most of you probably thought there were only 6 of them hahaha)

So I deleted my DrawSomething…

It was fun while it lasted, but after getting the same picture time after time after time, and spending more time drawing on an App instead of in my sketchbook…I’ve decided to let it go.

Above are some of what I consider my “best” haha :P

PROMETHEUS [trailer] #2
Our first glimpse of possible enemies suggests that Aliens will make an appearance!

…and because some still haven’t seen it…

AVENGERS [trailer] #2
First aired two weeks ago, but friiick if I’m not the most excited for it!

THE AVENGERS [trailer] First Official

Well that was fast!
The soundtrack…perfect
Shots of entire streets blowing up…perfect
The epic closeups of our heroes dawning their weapons…perfect
Not knowing exactly what the plot is…good I guess but it’s driving me crazy! I mean what the heck is Loki up to, how could that one guy take on the Avengers?
And that final scene with Banner and Stark is so “oh hey we know this is the third guy to play the Hulk and you probably don’t know who he is, so here is a little banter to help catch you up”

Coffee & Multitasking v.84

THOR [movie] Review
- POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT -I should start by saying I don’t think Thor should be a main star in the comic world. He’s a Norse God, not a cartoon character, well I guess thanks to Marvel he’s both. But at least he should be as popular as Hercules (again, the Marvel character not the mythological one). That being said, I wasn’t expecting this movie to grip me as much as Iron Man or Spider Man, both movies that had me connecting with the entire universe that the character was involved with.
The story is a dead giveaway; Thor and Loki battle it out for control over Asgard, and Earth gets in the middle. The twist comes with the presence of SHIELD and how they incorporate different things from other Marvel movies to set us up for the big Avengers movie (which by the way, because of the hype, better be the best movie ever made). So lets talk about the easter-eggs; there’s the obvious encounter with Hawkeye, who is told to shoot Thor on sight when he tries to break into the SHIELD compound and steal back his hammer. Then the slight mention of Bruce Banner (Hulk) between the scientists when chatting about different work that has been jacked by government officials. And the giant spoiler after the credits, when Nick Fury unveils the Cosmic Cube, which…if you’re not a geek…is the all-powerful item that Red Skull is rumored to be hunting in the upcoming Captain America movie. Basically it has the power to grant the holder anything they want…so obviously SHIELD hasn’t figured that out yet :P
Overall I thought it was really fun movie. Asgard shows us a world unlike one that I think we’ve ever seen in cinema before; not just its beautiful visuals, but also the dynamics of how the world works as the center of everything…with continuous waterfalls that drop into nothingness…so cool! The interaction between characters was both pleasant, and an upset; the humor was surprisingly fun to watch, but things like fight scenes which you would think would be EPIC turned out being huge disappointments. When you’re the god of thunder, with the most powerful hammer in the world, I want to see lightening blowing everything up! Granted the fight between Thor and The Destroyer was cool…but that was it.
In the end I’d give it a 6/10 or 3/5…just barely a pass. As an action movie it’s awesome, but as a Marvel movie I think it failed. To me it felt like a filler; something created just to introduce us to Thor so that we’re not confused when the Avengers comes out. Unlike Iron Man, which could stand as a movie franchise all alone.
