2. DFA1979 RETURN [Pitchfork.com]
My goodness I’ve missed these guys! Didn’t realize how badly until I saw this article!

3. BEHIND FIFA WORLD CUP [LastWeekTonight]
If you’re not familiar with John Oliver’s new HBO talk show, get into it! It’s only been like, two weeks I think…but he’s already given some amazingly deep insight into area’s of our society that need change! Along with some wicked humor, his YouTube channel is worth the subscription…

FIRST PHOTO OF BAT-AFFLECK + NEW BATMOBILE!!!
:: Photo taken by Director Zack Snyder, posted to his personal Twitter. (you can checkout a photo of the cars rear here) Notice the massive symbol on Ben’s chest, and stubby ears. Almost like he’s winking at graphic novel version of “the Dark Knight”. And the car definitely reminds me of a mashup between Nolan’s tumbler and Burton’s hotrod.

LEGO MOVIE: Blooper Reel

:: I saw this last night, and it was cinema-perfection!
The fact that they have major names in three categories; actors, characters, and musicians, blew me away. Batman, Shaq, Tegan & Sara, the Lonely Island, Chris Pratt, Morgan Freeman, Superman, TMNT, Gandalf, Alison Brie, flippin Star Wars, Will Ferrel…..the list is HUGE!!!
I felt so freaking happy the whole time I was watching this! Except for the feelsy parts, that made my inner child cry. But I could watch this over and over and over and never get sick of it!

The Expendables 3 [trailer]

:: So this dropped two weeks ago and no one said anything about it!!!

*ahem*

Stallone, Jason Staham, Jet Li, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Schwarzenegger, Terry Crews, Robert Davi, Randy Couture, Victor Ortiz, and Kelsey…Grammer…

Happy New Year gift from Marvel!

1. Finally a decent shot of The Winter Soldier from Captain America
2. The cast of Guardians Of The Galaxy!

2013: The Movies We Watched

"Filmography 2013" by Gen IP

47 RONIN [review]
:: I’ve been looking forward to this movie for roughly…a year and a half I guess. And to that effect, while I was watching it, I felt that it didn’t deliver up to my expectations. BUT to be fair, my expectations were that it would be a “samurai-Matrix”…which I’m guessing a lot of people were thinking. Yes, it has Neo-erm-Kai-um-Keannu. And yes, he has abilities that no one else holds, which I guess makes him “the one” to save the day. And yes, it has fun choreographed fight scenes. To that end, if you liked the Matrix, chances are you’ll like this. However it was NOT - that - because of the way in which it chose to portray the characters. Now, I’m not Asian…but…I’ve seen enough American movies attempt this style, and enough Asian movies perfect it, to know what is what. There were a lot of things that you wouldn’t see in an American movie; the way characters acted/were treated. Even simple dialogue was performed in ways that a North American audience wouldn’t particularly like, or even get. Which is why I think so many people have told me that it “sucked”. I liked it’s nuances, it’s quirks, the little things that you’d see in an anime (and not on the big screen). It kinda has the feel (not the style) of Pacific Rim, if that makes sense…Anyway, it’s Keannu, in a classic role with great action and an interesting story. Surrounded by rich context and shiny things to go “ooo” and “awe” over. A lot of people don’t know this is a remake, so there’s that. And the fact that it’s based off of something real is always an added feature (for me) while watching. See it!

DAWN of the PLANET of the APES [trailer]

:: Set a decade after “Rise”, now with Gary Oldman and without James Franco. Apparently the setting is a post-virus world where both sides are fragile, and must find a co-existing truce…

EDGE OF TOMORROW [trailer]

:: By now most have seen this trailer before The Hobbit 2, and yes, it’s another Tom Cruise scifi-blockbuster. BUT YA KNOW WHAT…I like Cruise. I’ve enjoyed him in all of the MI flicks (especially #1…friggin amazing). He killed it in Minority Report, and Oblivion is still my favorite movie of 2013! Also, Emily Blunt #babe
Soldiers in mechsuits fighting an alien invasion of Earth with a “Groundhog” style twist…sounds fun! I’m sold!
