MARVEL HEROES: First Official Trailer
Finally something concrete on the upcoming Diablo-style MMO from my favorite comicbook franchise! At first I heard rumors that this would be a full open-world sandbox style MMORPG (in the shadow of WoW) but I think since the overrated success of StarWars:TOR studios are realizing it’s better to try something new rather than battle a giant.
Now I’ll have to quickly play through Ultimate Alliance 2 to get myself up to speed; it looks like this will be the same style of game, following the escapades of the Teseract…the powerful cube we’re introduced to from the movies. Cross-media storytelling is my favorite!

BATTLESTAR GALATICA ONLINE [game] Review
For those that don’t know, BSG is in my top5 favorite TV shows list. So when I heard they were porting it over into an MMORPG I was ecstatic! Then, when I heard they changed it into a free-to-play browser based game…I was still happy but not as.
I’ve now spent about 15mins setting up my character, running my first mission, and running around the ship, here are my thoughts…
- Free to play / browser based = never as good as it could be
- Trying to fly with space dynamics (all directions) with only mouse clicks is annoying
- Running around the ship is fun
- Character interaction/dialogue is painfully boring
- Mission HUD is complicated, confusing, and ultimately I find myself just clicking the ‘ok’ button to get it out of the way
This is for hardcore BSG fans. I’m a huge fan, uber even, and I still find myself bored. I am impressed with the character design, and the fact that you can free-run around the ship (well, three parts of it…) but all the cluttered things to look at, read, and click on frustrate my eyes. There’s a constant ticker at the bottom of the screen displaying missions, and a real-time pop up that displays what’s happening in the “world”.
Verdict: If you’re a fan check it out, but don’t expect much.
Just received my beta to Marvel’s new browser-based MMO.
It’s obviously a kids game, but I thought “what the heck why not”. It’s actually pretty fun! It’s very limited, I’m guessing aimed for children under the age of 10. You don’t get to choose your own name, or create a custom character. You start off by being able to choose between Cyclops (Xmen) Falcon (Avengers) Thing (Fantastic4) or Ms Marvel.
My name: Horrific Stellar Shark
My character: Cyclops
The controls are VERY simple, with the all your options being on-screen (no need for the keyboard but you can use W,A,S,D for movement). And right now we’re locked within a small section of a city. Once the game is released I’m sure there will be many more options, and if you check out the website you can see the full roster of characters to unlock.
New WoW Cataclysm grounds.
Is it just me, or does Grim Batol look a lot like a destroyed Ironforge?
So pumped for this update, finally finished 4.0.0 d/l and with my new iMac Azeroth is looking better than ever.
