THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 [trailer]

:: Well there it is. Seems like Oscorp is the end-all-be-all when it comes to evil in Parkers world. Is that Norman sick in bed? Were those Doc Ocks arms under the same guard as the glider? Have they just written off two MAJOR characters in the Spidey universe? OK so here’s what it looks like…
- Rhino is a common thug who gets his hands on Oscorp tech
- Electro is a guy who gets his hands on Oscorp tech (that possibly gives him his powers) but if that’s not the case we have our “Sandman” for this movie…
- Harry is a colleague that uses his Oscorp tech (when he learns about Peter)
- Peter has secretly been under observation by Oscorp (but we’re not sure why)
- Peter finds a hidden lab setup by his late Father (who was also battling Oscorp in the past…probably mirroring with Norman what’s now happening with Harry)
It still looks like too much too quick.

THE WOLVERINE [trailer]

This is how you do a sequel to a movie that everyone hated!

Has anyone else checked out the new X-Force series? [click here]
Cable is back, with a whole new getup, and a new team. I’m not sure how I feel about it…His new robotic arm looks like overkill, and I hate the eyepatch covering the cool glowing eye!I like Colossus, I like Forge, and don’t really care about the other two. I like that they’re now fugitives, but I don’t like that they’re rival team is the Uncanny Avengers (if you didn’t know, Avengers + Xmen teamed up)  Anyshway. Their already a few issues in, and it looks promising. Looks like a series that will make me get back into buying comics on the regular (online that is…)

2013's BIG MOVIE LIST [click]

IGN decided to post a list (including trailers and description) of every major theatrical release, along with most of dates. Here’s what I’M excited for…

Gangster Squad: It’s kinda like an update Untouchables.
The Last Stand / Bullet to the Head: Ahhhnold and Stallone are back to make no brainer shoot ‘em ups, my favorite lazy Sunday kinda movies.
The Side Effects: The Directorial follow up to Contagion.
A Good Day to Die Hard: Forever one of my favorite franchises!
OZ: The Great and Powerful: James Franco + fantasy epic = fun.
Carrie: I never really got into the original, but wanted to. And Chloe Moretz is so much fun to watch on screen.
The Place Beyond The Pines: Ryan Gosling…
Oblivion: It’s nice to see Tom Cruise in another blockbuster, it’s where he belongs.
Iron Man 3: Duh!
The Great Gatsby: I’ll stop enjoying Leo Dicaprio in classic timepiece films when he stops making them.
Star Trek: Into Darkness: The Next Generation was just added to Netflix, and it’s only strengthened my love for the franchise.
After Earth: I love Will Smith, and I love when he’s on screen with family.
Man Of Steel: To me, this will make or break the Justice League movie…
This Is The End: I love the concept of a bunch of comedy actors, playing themselves, in an apocalypse setting!
World War Z: Quite possibly my favorite book, with one of my favorite actors.
Kick A** 2: I had never heard of the comic until the first movie was released, and now it’s one of those gems I keep coming back to over and over again.
Pacific Rim: Even though it’s a homage to all the classic Japanese monster films, it still feels refreshingly original.
The Wolverine: I don’t care what people say, this is Wolverine2, and it will be great!
300: Rise of an Empire: It’ll be interesting to see what the Persians did after Leonidas’ defeat.
Elysium: Think the storyline of Gundam, without the Gundams.
Riddick: I’m really glad they decided to go this way with the trilogy.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For: FINALLY!!!
The Worlds End: It’s being called the final act in the Simon Pegg/Nick Frost trilogy.
Enders Game: All of my booknerd friends rave about this, and it’s got Harrison Ford in an army role, sold.
Hunger Games: Catching Fire: Hopefully this will finally convince everyone that didn’t read the books that it’s NOT a Twilight ripoff.
The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug: I know that they aren’t following the book, but it’s still excellent to watch. *EDIT* I was TOLD they aren’t following the book 100%…
47 Ronin: Not familiar with the classic? GET FAMILIAR! Also Keannu Reeves in another oriental-style film…I’ll be the only one in the theater, and that’s ok!
jOBS: And finally this…this has already been picked as my movie of the year, for obvious reasons. A biopic about one of my favorite people, starring Ashton Kutcher, whom I’ve actually grown to like when he’s not playing a comedic role.

Coffee & Multitasking v.108

COMICBOOK MOVIE EDITION:

1. JGL IN JLA [io9.com]
You know how movie rumors go, but it seems that enough credible sources are getting behind this story to make it legit…
Joseph Gordon Levitt (who played Robin in The Dark Knight Rises) will be the new Batman in DC’s upcoming Justice League movie!!!
This makes sense, with Chris Nolan moving from Bats to the Superman remake. Let the tie-in’s begin!

2. XMEN4 UPDATE [Twitter]
Bryan Singer is the new director of the X-Men franchise (the original, not the parallel ‘First Class’ series…) and tweeted today that Ian Mckellen and Patrick Stewart have signed on to reprise their roles as Magneto and Prof X. Even more exciting is that they’ve chosen to go the direction of “Days of Future Past” one of the most iconic comicbook storylines ever!

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS?
Is DC taking the Marvel route with their movies a good thing? Is continuing on with two X-Men movie franchises a smart move?

IRON MAN 3 UPDATE: First Official Trailer

Finally Mandarin is being introduced! This was the bad guy I grew up loving to hate, and the only real threat (I thought) to Tony Stark…other than a bottle of booze…
I think it’ll be great to introduce this side of the story to new fans, who only know the overly sarcastic yet witty clean cut Avenger.

IRON MAN 3 UPDATE: First Set Pics!

Marvel unleashed a fury of official pics to quench our thirsts, and tomorrow they’re promising the first official trailer!

4. NEW MARVEL SUPERHERO [YouTube
Stan Lee has created an all new hero specifically for an upcoming iOS game! He looks like a mix of IronMan and Tron, a very trendy/popular/smart move on Marvels part.

TOP5 SUMMER MOVIES [2012]

5. PREMIUM RUSH

I just explained in my review of this why I love it so much.
Read it [here]

4. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

I started the summer loathing the idea ofanotherreboot, but found myself seeing this movie twice, a pleasant surprise!
3. PROMETHEUS

I was looking forward to this movie for well over a year, planned a whole mini-road trip with friends for opening night, and saw it 2 more times in theaters after that!
2. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

It’s the friggin end to the legendary Nolan trilogy…
1. THE AVENGERS

This takes the top spot solely for it’s ability to allow me the pleasure of escaping reality for a few moments to fall back into my childhood. I saw it multiple times, played the stupid game on Fbook, read the fanfiction, and am very excited for the upcoming TV show, and ran Marvel movie marathons in celebration before and after it’s release.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE SUMMER MOVIE OF 2012?

SDCC’12 ROUNDUP: Marvel Movie Sequels

I can definitely get behind these sequel. IM2 left off with a huge opening for character development between Tony and Rhodey. And with the lack of War Machine in Avengers I really hope they play up the duo against a villain that can can actually hold his own.
And titling CapUSA’s second turn at film as “winter soldier” is a huge note that we’re going to see the return of Bucky, and possibly (hopefully) follow down the storyline thatleads to Cap’s eventual replacement???
Can’t really say much about Thor though, I never followed him growing up. I just hope that this time around it’s a little more like the rest of the Avengers lineup…Thor1 is just too cheesy for my taste.

Keep checking back for more of what I found interesting at this years event…

My prints from Electric Alivia came in yesterday!
(I ordered them from her RedBubble page)

AVENGERS [movie] Review
*SPOILER ALERT*
This should have come out on Saturday (when I saw it) but I just moved and don’t have internet at home :/SO, after 5 years of hype…was it worth it?     YES!
Thank you Mr Whedon; thank you for appreciating the fact that regardless of how much Hollywood wants to make, WE the fanboys and geeks of the world have been waiting for this movie since we were children. If that didn’t make sense…the movie is good, great even. It’s far better than any of the Marvel movies leading up to it. Not that they were bad, but this is definitely the best portrayal of the characters themselves. For example; Thor felt a little too cheesy, and Hulk had just…so many problems. You can definitely tell that Whedon (a fan of comics and continuity) was able to force his hand on certain subjects pertaining to the geekiness of this flick. Overall the flow of the film was perfect, going from realization and introduction to formation and problem solving smoothly while keeping me entertained.
DID YOU WATCH TIL THE END OF BOTH CREDITS???Who was the purple guy smiling at at the end: His name is Thanos, and he’s the baddest of the bad in the Marvel universe. What does this mean for the Avenger movies…that they’re only going to get bigger, and possibly involve some crossovers! Also the Shwarma scene at the very very end: perfect!
This movie had the right amount of humor, action, suspense, drama, and that awkward tension between main characters that only Whedon seems to be able to create.
Do you need to see previous Marvel movies before this? Yes.
My favorite scene? The NY final battle! When I was a child I dreamed of what it would be like to see my favorite comic heroes in real life, and this delivered that beautifully. I was in awe when Cap started barking orders to Hawkeye and IronMan. My childhood was pleased.
My thoughts on the villains? I hate Loki, he’s friggin annoying. But that’s perfect when dealing with a storyline like this, so it works. However I really hope they use the pure brutality of Thanos to deliver an enemy who can put up a fight in then next movie.
My favorite hero? It ended up being Thor, and that surprised me! Iron Man was my favorite character in the solo movies, and Captain America was my favorite film out of the bunch, but Thor delivered a really strong character to the Avengers story. 2nd place goes to Black Widow…Scar Jo will always have a place in my heart ;) haha
I could go on and on, so leave your thoughts in comments/replies/messages so we can keep the conversation going!
