The New iPad (3/HD) [click]
From todays Keynote presentation…
News outlets are calling it the “HD iPad 3” while the site has simply dubbed it “the New iPad”. I’m calling it what it is; the iPad 2S hahaha!
It looks great though, and that’s the point, this isn’t an entirely new device it’s just an upgraded version.
APPLE EDUCATION EVENT 2012
iBooks2: A two part software update
1. Textbooks
What they did for books, they’re now doing for textbooks. Fully intractable, cheaper, and take up way less space in your backpack. Of course this is released right as I finish college :P
2. Author
We now have the ability to create our own fully intractable books with this new App! How crazy awesome fantastic is that!
iTunes U
An App that helps educators fully customize their class experience. Organize schedules, books, notes, citing, libraries, additional info…basically everything you need to get through a course. All in one clean and simple place…genius.
All updates available from the Mac App Store

iCLOUD
Centralized Hub: Think of it as taking Mobile Me, and making it useable (I don’t know about any other Mac users, but I never touched MM).
Free: Every user gets 5GB of storage at no cost.
iTunes: Every purchased track is copied/stored, however, burned or downloaded tracks need a $25-per-year subscription.
Integration: Many MobileMe features are now Apps that allow you to wireless sync your iOS and OSX devices.
Photostream: Snap a pic on your iPhone or iPad, and it auto syncs with iPhoto on your Mac, which is then stored for 30 days (unless otherwise specified)
Purchase History: Should have existed before, but now all your purchases are saved to help keep track and keep organized.
iWork: Now that it’s on all devices, your work will be cross-saved and cross-compatible automatically.
API’s: Third party Apps now have syncing capabilities with Apple software.
Backups: iCloud daily backs up all files automatically.
iOS 5
Notifications: Getting rid of those annoying popups, and replacing them with a center for all your notifying needs, keeping in step with this years theme of minimalism.
Newsstand: Like iBooks, but for magazines!
Twitter: The new operating system will integrate tweets into virtually every aspect of their apps.
Safari: It’s being revamped for mobile devices, allowing for cleaner surfing and a new tabs feature!
Reminders: Simple to-do App that syncs with your iMac.
Camera: Access from outside of the lock screen for faster photo-taking, as well as in-App editing.
Mail: Rich text formatting, indentation control, draggable email addy’s, message flagging, and swiping to inbox.
Dictionary: Like Twitter, it will be built into virtually every app.
Game Center: An updated version for achievements, photos, friends, and other neat features.
iMessage: Apple’s answer to BBM, a new simpler way of messaging between iOS devices!!!
No More PC: No longer will you have to plug in your iOS device to update! It all goes seamlessly over the air. Finally our lives can be 100% PC free!!!
MICROSOFT @ E3 2011
MY FAVORITE ANNOUNCEMENTS…
Mass Effect 3: Integrating the Kinect into battle commands AND dialogue sequences is huge. Now we’ll be able to talk with the characters, not just select a command. I get so invested in these games…I could see myself becoming TOO attached haha :P
Kinect Online: YouTube, Bing, and Voice Menu totally revamping how the 360 works. This is just one step closer to getting rid of a PC vs peripheral world, and into a all-in-one entertainment system.
Halo CE Anniversary: Just like they did with Perfect Dark 64, they’re taking the original Halo and revamping it for the HD world. Along with new multiplayer maps…so stoked!
Fable Journey: Taking an RPG and turning into an FPS, then, making all the controls Kinect ready is unreal. You cast spells by waving your fricken hands! Best Kinect game ever…
Star Wars Kinect: This is the game all Kinect fans wanted; real life lightsaber battles and force powers! Much like Fable, it’s the closest we’ll ever get to actually doing that stuff!
Fun Labs: Just looks cool, and being able to turn yourself into your Avatar is great.
HALO 4: Coming Christmas 2012…
It obviously looks like MS wants this year to be all about integration between us and the 360. While some people are saying it’s a small year for them, to me it looks like a giant leap towards our world of entertainment (tv, internet, games, music) being widdled down to one epic console.
While this is the big day at E3 for me, what are you excited for?

OS X LION
Full Screen Mode: May not seem like a huge deal, but it’s the small things their adding to apps that full-screen will enhance that make it something to note.
Mission Control: Think of it as a new, simpler, cleaner Expose.
Launch Pad: “More of less straight off the iPad” - To me looks like clutter on the desktop much like my old PC; probably won’t be using this feature :S
Resume: Your Mac will now remember everything about an App when you close it, that’s neat.
Versions: Via Time Machine, you’ll be able to edit work using different save-files, super neat.
App Store: It’s getting beefed up; simple but effective, no more running to the store for programs or software updates.
Air Drop: P2P wifi enabled sharing system, again, won’t be using this.
Mail: Finally gets an upgrade. I’ve never had complaints, but simplifying and cleaning it up is a good idea.
Coffee & Multitasking v.75
1. THE NEW DC COMICS
For the first time in its 76 year run, DC Comics is revamping it’s main character/storylines for a new 21st Century era. Starting August 31 with Justice League #1 everyone from Superman to Aquaman will be getting new #1 issues…this is as huge as that time Marvel went bankrupt!!!

Endgadget is currently streaming the even [here]
Here’s what I’m drooling over so far…
STEVE IS BACK!!!
The unveiling!!!
New iOS
A new casing that is similar to the iPhone4 design (me likey)
*EDIT* The new casing is not like an iPhone4, sorry, I blame Endgadgets non-audio livestream for misdirecting me…yeah :P
And a new carrying case, that acts as a clip on book, making the iPad even more like an eBook. This just has to be seen to believe…
As I’m posting this Steve just came back up and announced a new version of iMovie specifically for the iPad! It looks unreal when tag-teamed with Facetime. And with the new HDMI hookups available for this model…the iPad is becoming more and more like a laptop than a bigger-iPhone :P
