Hey internets, I got a new iPhone! So the story goes that my amazing friend Ti’an broke her iPhone4S, she replaced the screen BUT not before cashing in on a new iPhone5. Now, I’ve had my iPhone4 for two years now, one of which has been spent with a horribly scratched up camera. She felt called to bless me by just giving me the 4S and walking away. This means two things; I can hand down my phone to my roommate who’s been operating with a smashed screen for about a year now. AND it means that I can take CLEAR photos/videos again! No more horribly muffled concert footage, or overly edited Instagram’s :)

Tomm and I started going to The Bunker as young teens…14 years later we’re now the one’s spittin the gospel from the stage. Unreal. I can’t even put into words what tonight was like for me…big thanks to everyone who came out to share in it :)  isntagram: hebb

2013: Day 117

Today was splendid…

Got to sleep in, enjoy some good coffee and good reading. Woke up to a surprise bday gift on my kitchen counter! Cleaned the house. Worked on the (new) bike. Played classic JudgeDredd for the SegaGenesis! Friends came down, we grilled some chicken on the barbee, there were two cakes. A great combo of root/beer, hilarious viral videos, and MadMen. And getting to relive my love for MetalGearSolid original-version for the PS1.

Sometimes it’s like “man life is tough” and other times it’s like “man, I’m glad I have great friends”.

So this happened…  My buddy Dave B from the MoTown YFC just hooked me up with a “hbd” and a bike! Guess I have a new summer project; new tires, change the gearing, remove the brakes (obvs) and a new seat. Stoked!

Still playing catchup with the last week of events… I was lucky enough to capture the moment that two of my friends got engaged. It was a great ending to a crazy day of trying to sneak that boy out of Alberta, into Manitoba, and all the way to her house without her finding out! instagram: hebb

You guys, last night I went to this really cool party… It was a social for my friend Garret, who’s getting married to a gal named Jenna, and we drank buttloads of tea (instead of boozahol like a “normal” social). And people had to play silly games to win ridiculously awesome prizes. AND there was so much food (dude can’t resist a buffet of any sorts). AND AND I bumped into a bunch of friends I hadn’t seen in a long long time. AND AND AND I met a bunch of super random, super sweet strangers that told me all about themselves. Then I went to BP’s with like, a hundred girls, and they told me how cute this one musician is. There was also a lot of super deep and heavy theological discussion on the way home. So pretty much last night was perfect. Thanks weekend.

It’s my rad Nephews 4th Bday today!!! Sadly I have to miss my fams lil shindig, BUT, it’s because some friends of mine decided to get married and hold their tea-house-social tonight!Either way it’s a good day, and I’m blessed all around.

2013: Days 67/68/69

*phew* okay, here we go…

Friday: We hosted a big party for local immigrant services, to provide a way of showing people in our community there are safe, fun, open, and embracing places for newcomers to checkout. Jonny’s Java donated coffee, and CO-OP donated a TON of food! Pathway Church sent over 2 speakers and a hospitality team, and The Bunker hired a bunch of entertainers (including Winnipeg’s hiphop group The Lytics!) Seriously, it was an amazing display of love and genuine fun! Thanks to everyone that got involved and helped pack the place out…and to those that I went to for help that laughed at me and called it a “dumb” idea……you missed out.

Saturday: After a solid 3hrs of sleep I got to setup for a wedding (that I also got to MC!) Both the bride and groom have been a part of our little ministry family for several years now…so yeah…I was busting with joy!

Sunday: After an amazing sermon at Church I got to hangout and eat brunch with some family from Australia! My cousin, whom I haven’t seen in 22yrs, and her daughter (my 2nd…or 3rd cousin???) who I’ve never met :) THEN I hopped in the car and watched my roommate shred Winnipeg in his new band Essentials…also awesome faces that I like hugging!

There ya go, grand weekend was had.

Yesterday, two of my favorite people got married, and I looked handsome about it.

I’ve known Mike (the groom) for several years now; ever since he was a lil kid trying to sneak into The Bunker. To see him grow and mature, not just as a young guy in the community, or a brother in Christ, but as a strong independent man…has been awesome to say the least. 
Add the addition of an amazing woman (now wife) who has brought out the most amazingly loving features in him…and I feel blessed just to be able to watch them tie the knot.

I can’t wait to see what incredible things will come from the union of this new family!

I just spent my evening drinking slurpees, eating icecream, and watching Cabin In The Woods and Django Unchained with Scott…

Everything else is irrelevant.

Today was perfect…

6AM: wake up, workout, breakfast
9AM: reading, blogging, videogames
NOON: small lunch, work, meeting
4PM: editing, updating, burgers
7PM: work, catching up, cleaning up
9PM: friends, walking dead, video games

I wasn’t inspired to post much today, but I made random plans with friends for the rest of the week :)

2013: Day 56

Woke up early, met a friend for coffee, was inspired by Church…morning.

Had friend over, made brunch, played Diablo3, bought SuperMetroid on the WiiMarketplace…afternoon.


Rented the ice skating arena, made hot cocoa, watched kids play hockey, had dudes over for pizza and video games…evening.

PS: All I know about the Oscars is whatever Buzzfeed is blogging…and not even that can make it legit.
