007 SKYFALL [trailer] First Official
I’m not sure how I feel about this new Bond flick. Over the years, as the originators grow further and further away from the franchise, I see it becoming more of a straight forward action series and less of the slick-spy noir.
And with the amount of hype shoved into this one, not to mention the rumors surrounding the future of Craig as James, iiiiii dunno…something is just off.
And am I the only one sick of these “DUN DUN” trailers? I mean c’mon, we get it, the soundtrack/noises is cool BUT the trailers have become more entertaining than the movies themselves! Think of something original!
MY WEEKEND VIA IG [@hebb]
BBQ’ing, biking, and icecream with the babe. The raddest nephews birthday. Amazing breakfast and brunch. Learning new tricks on my iPad. Finally finishing my book. And the Game Of Thrones (Season2) premiere.
Weekend = success!
Why HungerGames Isn’t for Kids:
For those still thinking that this is a kids series, here’s an excerpt from the 3rd book Mockingjay;
The context is that the capitol city is under siege by the rebel army (comprised of the Districts) and the Peacekeepers (bad guys) have imprisoned/slaughtered a large group of toddlers and children in front of them.
“A wail rises from the crowd. The snow’s red and littered with undersized body parts. Many of the children die immediately, but others lie in agony on the ground.”
Why am I posting this? Because I’ve had many parents asking me lately, “should I take my kid to see the Hunger Games movie” after seeing commercials for it and thinking it’s this years teenage angst fest. I’ve said it so many times but for some reason people choose to not believe me; this isn’t a series for those not yet in highschool. While the movie plays down the violence of the first book, I don’t see how it will be possible to cover up the amount of gore in #3.
When I saw it in theaters, the entire row behind us was made up of 2 parents and 8 kids. Each of which became very uneasy and somewhat scared when characters began to get murdered off on screen (as if they weren’t expecting it / no one told them it was coming).
I still think this is a fantastic political/activist story that encapsulates how self absorbed our society is, but, shouldn’t be taken lightly because of the spotlight Hollywood has put it in. Parents; do your research.

CHRISTMAS EVE 2011
So glad Christmas is on the weekend this year :) I spent today grabbing some last minute gifts, saying goodbye to my favorite barista Kstud, and getting pretty dapper for tonight’s Church pageant…followed by an intense family dinner (my stooomach).
I’m in love with this coat, mostly because of the anchor buttons [closeup]
Also, my friends Eden and Beargen are helping me become a true gentleman with their fine gifts of; a pipe, mustache wax, and the first 3 books in the Harry Potter series.
Sweet ‘stache twirl [here] I just need to keep growing it out…

THE HUNGER GAMES [trailer] is online!
Spine shiveringly good…
I’m just finishing up the first book now, thank goodness, or else I’d have no idea what was going on. I don’t want to give anything away, but I’m afraid that anyone who hasn’t read it (and see’s this) will be so confused they might not watch it.
The only spoiler I’m giving, is that there was civil uprising, and now the people are ruled by a very strict government.
Also, I totally thought of Woody Harrelson when I read the character of Haymitch! And Lenny Kravitz as Cinna, awesome! Not to mention that final countdown clip, holy smokes, can’t wait.
So This Happened Today: POTTERMORE
By chance and good luck, I found a Quill, picked up the username “QuestLight77” and have found myself stumbling into the online world of Harry Potter!
I’m very stoked to finally have the ability to purchase eBook copies (trying to cutback on the number of physical items in my possession) and it’ll be interesting to find out what JK means by “readers shape the world of HP”.
Coffee & Multitasking v.76
1. “WORLD WAR Z” THE MOVIE
Matthew Fox (Lost) is the newest actor slated for the visual retelling of Max Brooks epic novel of a post-zombie-apocalypse world. I…can’t…wait! This is one of my favorite books!
[deadline]
2. “SUPER 8” EASTER EGGS
It’s JJ Abrams, of course he’s going to fill it up with Lost, Star Trek, Slusho, and other hints from his amazing franchises.

3. FIRST “AVENGERS” AND “AMAZING SPIDERMAN” TEASERS
Their just (possible) posters, but the Avengers one looks friggin awesome!

Goosebumps!!!
I used to own every single one of these books, and honestly have no idea what happened to them :(
They probably got given to the local thrift store when I was going through my “get rid of my kiddie stuff ‘cause I’m a grown-up-teenager now” phase. I was a loser.
If I could, I would buy every one of them back. They inspired me to not only use my imagination, but got me excited about reading! Everyone had their favorites; usually the ones involving the ventriloquist dummy Slappy. However mine was the one which I believe is at the bottom in this pic (with the caped man jumping). It involved a young boy who found a cool/mysterious building, and when he walked in he was scanned by a weird machine that turned him into a super hero!
Like I said, it got my creative juices flowing; I used to write my own books and even mailed a letter to Mr. Stine once with one of my ideas (but never heard back).
At first I had to order them from the school library, and hide them from my parents; begging the librarian/teacher to not tell them. She was cool, she liked the fact that one of the biggest slackers and class clowns was sooo into reading, she never snitched ;) Eventually my parents accepted them, and I would definitely get my kids into these books!
…I’m gonna search for iBook copies right now!
