Michael Bays “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” [sneak peak]

:: I have to admit, it doesn’t look as bad as I thought. I’ll also tag “Bay’s” to the title though…because his interpretation is always…his…
A lot of people are complaining about the faces, but they aren’t bad! And I enjoy the aesthetic of adding things like bracelets and beads. And Shredder looked BA. But why is April’s Dad the creator of the Turtles? It’s one of those 21st century things where everything needs to be connected (which I think it doesn’t…)
Also Megan Fox is Megan Fox <3

PS: Why did they reveal this on the Today show of all places???

1. BAY’S TMNT REVEALED [ComicBookTherapy] [i09.com
I’ll admit, they look pretty freaking cool. I don’t even mind Shredder’s new design. And yes, I am a fan of Megan Fox as April. It looks like he took inspiration from fanart, rather than trying to completely reinvent the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

2. #PHARRELLSHAT [video
The man himself blasts back after all the jokes made about his Grammy attire.

3. FIREFLY RETURNS [DarkHorse
Well, sorta. “Serenity” is a comic series that takes place shortly after the movie. Much like what the Whedon’s did with the Buffy series…

4. ATTACK ON TITAN IRL [video
Suburu knows where it’s at!

So if the internet is telling the truth…

1. MEGAN FOX IN TMNT [i09.com]
Yup, Bay and Fox are friends again, and surprise surprise she’s the lead female in his remake of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. While I’m not excited about the film, she is still a total babe. This gives my chance of watching it a +1

2. THE AMAZING GREEN GOBLIN [HollywoodReporter]
Mhmm…seems they haven’t learned from the emo-haired SpiderMan3.
Amazing SpiderMan 2 will now have THREE villains…possibly. While Dafoe will always be the perfect Goblin in my eyes, we now have Rhino, Electro, and Norman Osborn in the mix. Hopefully they’re just setting it up for another film…

3. ENDANGERED TV [IGN.com]
2013’s list of shows being canceled has been released, and I’m not overly shocked by it.
On the verge of cancellation are shows like: CSI:NY, Law&Order:SVU, 90210, Parks And Rec, and Community…which in my eyes died after Season3.
And ones that are definitely cut: The Office (finally), 30 Rock (duh), Last Resort, Fringe, and Gossip Girl.
But you can check out the full list of everything for yourself…

TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON [movie] Review
Yup, I’ll jump on the bandwagon and say this was my favorite out of the three. But I want to add to that, saying that I feel it’s mostly in part to the addition of Spielberg to the producing team. You can’t put that guy on a project and not get something epic…
I felt like this movie delivered where the first two fell short, for nerds at least. We wanted an epic all out city-destroying battle between giant robots that would’ve made the Power Rangers proud! We wanted Optimus to finally realize that he was going to have to get tough! Most importantly we wanted less of Michael Bay’s grade 6 humor and more transforming!
Obviously with a 2.5hr run time there are parts that could have been cut out. I think every scene with Sam’s parents was just an excuse to throw a sex joke in. And I still think that stupid Sector 7 8 agent is useless. But Bay has a habit of casting throw-away characters…Leonard Nimoy as Sentinal was brilliant! And obviously if we’re talking cast the big question is: Megan or Rosie (haha) The part of Sam’s GF is purely for eye-candy sake, so with that in mind, I’m a Fox fan. However Rosie’s acting (or should I say accent) was a lot more entertaining. All in all, these “Bay” moments only added in rushing the “epic” moments.
Autobots: Killing off the big guns was a twist, and I thoroughly enjoyed the ninja toting Ferrari, not to mention the replacement of the racist twins for the “wreckers”. But Optimus really stole the show, and deservedly so. He was overshadowed in the first two movies, not allowing him to really cut loose like he did this time around. The addition of the armament-trailer, flight sequence, and all around BA attitude was *muah* perfect! Decepticons: I felt like they really didn’t play a big part of this…hear me out. Starscream gets killed by a human, Megatron is essentially a hobo, the main “villain” is a defect Autobot, leaving only Soundwave (and his worm-pet) as the biggest baddest Decepticon. I really wanted Megatron to cut loose and tear stuff up, I really wanted army vs army, I really wanted to hate the Decepticons…but found myself hating the humans more for their ignorance and betrayal.
Like: The Chicago warzone was breathtaking. Seeing just how destructive things could get was what I had been waiting for since #1, and Bay definitely delivered. Dislike: The final battle between Optimus / Megatron / Sentinal. I wanted it to be longer, it needed to be longer. Killing off the biggest enemies both within a 20second period, and THEN having the credits role like…1min after…was far far far too rushed!
I could go on, and on and on, there’s so much to cover and I’ll definitely be seeing it again. Shia was awesome, Tyrese didn’t suck, Optimus gave me chills (literally), Rosie was delightful, and the Robots finally delivered. This is definitely the biggest summer blockbuster - so far - go see it!

SUPERBOWL MADNESS EDITION!!!
The game panned out exactly how I thought it would; my friends and I ate a ton of food, the Black Eyed Pea’s were horrible…horrible…*shudder*…the commercials were huge, oh yeah and some guys played football. Kidding! GO PACKERS!!!
This year though most people seem to be fixated on the trailers, so lets break ‘em down…

1. SUPER 8
The new sci-fi thriller from JJ Abrams + Steven Spielberg is…wait…those two names alone means I don’t have to justify how awesome this movie will be.

2. TRANSFORMERS 3: DARK OF THE MOON

3. Michael Bay makes Transformers 3 worse…
We all cringed at Transformers 2, shuddered at the news of #3, and puked when we heard it will be released in 3D; well now because of Bay’s “style” the film is being forced to POST-3D tactics. Think The Last Airbender not Avatar.

Coffee & Multitasking v.21

Not a lot of good news in the media today; 3 deaths and some awful movie approvals. From TV; Gary Coleman passed away yesterday, from film; Dennis Hopper, and from music; the bass player of Slipknot (sorry don’t know his name).
And once again out of Hollywood, tons of franchises are being rebooted, respun, rehashed, and puked back out onto the public…

Young Prof X in X-Men movie reboot:

From the director of Kick A$$ with the star of Wanted, Fox Studios is going through with their intent on having an X-Men prequel on in early 2011. It’s set to be an origins story…sooo I’m guessing this will be called simply X-Men Origins, or X-Men Origins: Xavier???

*EDIT*
Thanks @danie-gee for pointing out that I’m a moron and forgot they already chose the name X-Men: First Class…which is still lame.

Flash, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman might get movies after all:
DC is coming around on the idea of having all their main characters star in blockbuster movies…meh.

Michael Bay set to ruin TMNT:
Who keeps letting Bay make movies? Seriously! First he had to destroy the Transformers, not to mention the horrific force of Megan Fox that he unleashed on the Earth. Now he has to destroy one of the most sacred memories of my childhood? Nothing is safe…
